Horizontal Directional Drilling
Install utilities under roads, driveways, landscaping and waterways with precision trenchless boring, backed by three generations of directional drilling expertise.
Built for Local Infrastructure
Think of HDD as a guided underground tunnel for pipe and conduit. We place water, gas, fibre optic, and electrical lines without carving open-cut trenches across finished surfaces. From Acton and Georgetown to Milton and Guelph, owners pick trenchless work when restoring asphalt, lawns, or municipal corridors would cost more than the install. Our crews plan bore paths, honour locates, and finish with the accuracy commercial and residential jobs need across Halton Region and Wellington County.
Why choose Neutrino
- Minimal restoration of driveways, boulevards and landscaping
- Safer crossings under busy roads and active corridors
- Cleaner installs for fibre, hydro, gas and water services
- Less disruption for homeowners, tenants and traffic
- Proven method for rural long pulls and urban pinch points
What We Offer
Water supply installation
New or replacement water services installed under lawns, sidewalks and driveways without striping open the full route. Ideal for rural wells tying into buildings and municipal service upgrades.
Gas line installation
Guided bore paths for gas service laterals and utility crossings where open excavation would interrupt traffic or damage hard surfaces.
Fibre optic installation
Conduit pulls for broadband and communications builds through residential streets and commercial properties with low visual impact.
Electrical service installation
Underground electrical conduit and service runs for new builds, upgrades and crossings where overhead or open-cut options are impractical.
How We Work
Locate & plan
We review site conditions, utility locates and bore geometry so the pilot path clears existing infrastructure and meets grade requirements.
Pilot bore
A guided drill head steers the pilot hole along the designed path while tracking equipment monitors depth and alignment.
Ream & pullback
The hole is enlarged as needed and product pipe or conduit is pulled into place with controlled tension and drilling fluid management.
Connect & restore
Entry and exit pits are kept as small as practical; services are connected and the work area is cleaned up for handoff.
Serving Halton & Wellington Communities

Frequently Asked Questions
What is horizontal directional drilling (HDD)?
HDD is a trenchless method that steers a pilot bore under roads, driveways, and landscaping, then pulls water, gas, fibre, or electrical conduit into place with small entry and exit pits.
When is HDD better than open-cut trenching?
Choose HDD when restoration of asphalt, concrete, lawns, or busy corridors would cost more than a trenchless install, or when surface disruption must stay low for traffic, tenants, or finished sites.
Do you install fibre optic and gas with directional drilling?
Yes. We use HDD for fibre optic and telecom conduit, gas service laterals, water services, and underground electrical conduit on residential and commercial sites.
Which areas do you serve for HDD?
We perform directional drilling in Acton, Halton Hills, Georgetown, Milton, Guelph, Rockwood, Erin, Nassagaweya, Campbellville, and nearby Halton and Wellington communities.
How do you avoid hitting existing utilities during HDD?
We work from current Ontario One Call locates, plan bore depth and clearance, and use hydrovac daylighting when existing plant must be exposed before the pilot bore or pullback.
How long does a typical residential HDD job take?
Duration depends on length, ground conditions, utilities, and permits. Many service laterals complete in a short window once locates and access are confirmed. Complex road or creek crossings take longer planning and execution.
Do you need permits for directional drilling under a municipal road?
Road and boulevard crossings often require municipal or regional permits, traffic control, and utility coordination. We help identify what the corridor needs before mobilization.
